DCS Database Development Case Study

Using MS-Access 2000, this database was completely rebuilt to overcome a poorly designed, in-efficient application. Changes by a previous "programmer" had left the application completely useless.

Desktop Consulting Service completely rebuilt the database core structure to ensure strict data relationships, overhauled data entry forms to eliminate redundancy, added key business rules to improve performance, and re-designed all reports to optimize retrieval of key property data. We also recovered over 3,000 orphaned property records.

The company was so pleased with the results of this project, they hired us to create a new database management system to manage Building Permit statistics for the City of Georgetown, Texas. Split into a client- server database system, this MS Access database allows multiple users to manually manage building and septic permits, and also import statistics directly from municipal data records.
